Why is NO ONE talking about the diversity of views within the Reformed tradition on the mode of sacramental consecration?
According to Heppe’s compendium, Leonardus Riisenius thought that the consecration of the sacrament should be “enunciated in a deep and intelligible voice, so that it may be understood by those to whom the sacrament is to be administered.”
Heinrich Bullinger, on the other hand, said that the verbum sacramentale seu concionale et praedicatum was called such “because it is put forth in a clear high voice at the instituting of the sacrament for the information of the believers present.”
Okay. Back to work.
