Wisdom Literature and Evangelism

Derek Rishmawy writes on twitter:

This may seem obvious, but the wisdom literature is actually great for evangelism in the current context where there seems to be a lack of (and hunger for) the sort of wisdom and meaning that used to be mediated generationally and in local communities. Wisdom literature can shed light on the deep structures of reality, the human person, and society all the while pointing to its origin and fulfillment in Christ.

This is exactly what I’m trying to do in my current sermon series on wisdom. Last week, I preached on the wisdom of God revealed in creation. This week, I’ll add to that sermon what Paul says about Christ in Colossians 1:15–20.
